Overview

This free event features a panel of health experts, along with a resource fair to support adults and high school students.

Brain Health Matters: What Parents, Teens, and Adults Need to Know

Brain health affects how we think, learn, feel, and perform—at every stage of life. Yet Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are rising alongside obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and early-onset colorectal cancer, many of which are strongly influenced by lifestyle habits and preventive screening.

Because what’s good for the brain is also good for the heart, this event will share practical, research-based strategies to support both. Topics include nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, cognitive engagement, and other everyday habits OptWell promotes to help individuals and families thrive.

Parents play a critical role in shaping lifelong habits—and the earlier brain-healthy routines are established, the greater the long-term benefits. For that reason, our expert speakers are prepared to engage high school students, parents, and older adults alike.

OptWell and The Community House, together with trusted health experts and nonprofit partners, are bringing the community actionable guidance and resources to support better brain health—starting now.
