Time at Home for Planning and Projects

Looking for something to do around the house? Use this extra time at home to plan ahead to “age in place,” or stay in your own home as you get older. We have resources to help you think about what factors can allow you to remain at home as you age. Learn more as you begin your aging in place plan.
Consider taking on a few small home improvement projects that make your home easier and safer to live in independently. Here are a few changes you might consider:

  • Don’t use area rugs and check that all carpets are fixed firmly to the floor.
  • Install grab bars near toilets and in the tub or shower.
  • Replace handles on doors or faucets with ones that are comfortable for your use.
