Welcome Dementia-Friendly Westmont!

The ICRN is proud to welcome the Village of Westmont as the latest Illinois community to be recognized as a national Dementia-Friendly community by Dementia Friendly America.

“I want to thank everyone who has been part of this important initiative,”  said Ron Gunter, Mayor of Westmont.

“Susan Frick with Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center and Mary Ferguson of Aspired Living in Westmont attended the March 19 Village Board meeting to officially announce Westmont as a Dementia-Friendly Community and recap the process in achieving this status.  Westmont is the first community in DuPage County to receive this recognition.  “We cannot thank Susan and Mary enough for all of their effort in guiding us through this,” added Mayor Gunter.  “They definitely led the charge on this initiative and we greatly appreciate their help.” Click here to read the full article.
