What are the Risk Factors for Vascular Dementia?

Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia diagnosis, after Alzheimer’s disease. It is caused by conditions that disrupt blood flow to the brain, such as stroke. You may lower your chance of developing vascular dementia by managing risk factors, which include:

  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
