Safety Tips for People Living with Dementia

Living with dementia presents unique challenges, such as keeping the person safe both in and outside of their home. However, there are things you can do to help. Safety tips for people with dementia include: 

  • Carrying identification with them in case they get lost or need help.
  • Making sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in or near the kitchen and in all bedrooms of their home.
  • Considering safety devices, like fall monitors and emergency call buttons.
