If an older adult in your life lives alone, you may be concerned about what could happen if they become sick, fall, or get lost. Emergency medical alert systems, fall monitors, or GPS tracking devices that alert emergency personnel may help put your mind at ease.
It’s important to ensure that emergency medical alert devices or systems are set up and worn correctly, and that the batteries are charged or replaced as recommended.
These devices and systems won’t be helpful in every emergency, and they can’t replace regular check-ins by family, friends, and caregivers.
