Why Diversity is Important in Clinical Trials

Volunteering for a clinical study or trial helps researchers discover new ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent Alzheimer’s disease. If the research involves people who are similar, the findings may not apply to or benefit everyone.

For results that benefit different groups of people, researchers need a variety of volunteers, including:

  • Healthy people with no symptoms of dementia
  • People from diverse and underrepresented groups
  • Caregivers of people with dementia

Nearly everyone can participate in clinical research! Learn more about the importance of diversity in clinical trials.
