Living With Dementia: Finding Care and Support

People with dementia may experience a range of symptoms related to changes in thinking, remembering, reasoning, and behavior. These symptoms will get worse over time. With that in mind, it’s important to plan ahead and have support in place for when daily activities become difficult. Consider these tips:

  • Ask friends or family to help with needs like cooking, paying bills, transportation, or shopping.
  • If you live alone, find people you trust who can visit often.
  • Explore social service agencies, local nonprofits, and Area Agencies on Aging to find options for in-home help, transportation, meals, and other services.
