Make Caring for Yourself a Priority in the New Year

Taking care of yourself — physically and mentally — is one of the most important things you can do as a caregiver for a person with Alzheimer’s disease. This new year, make yourself a priority and take actions to relieve caregiver stress. Here are some ways you can take care of yourself:

  • Ask family members or friends for help when you need it.
  • Join a caregiving support group.
  • Take breaks each day.
  • Eat healthy foods.
  • Keep up with your hobbies and interests.
