Washington

The citizens of Washington, Illinois, are known for and annually celebrate being good neighbors, and we are committed to being so to those in our community with Dementia. We are a place where people understand dementia, know how to compassionately communicate with those living with dementia, and support those in the community so they may live with independence and dignity. Our efforts see the existence of dementia in our community as an opportunity to learn, grow, and make Washington a strong community that is informed, safe, and respectful of all individuals and their families. Every part of the community has a unique role in fostering meaningful access to and engagement in community life for people with dementia and their family, friends, and care partners/caretakers.
