Westmont

Dementia Friendly Westmont seeks to reduce stigma and increase support for those living with dementia by through education and coordination of resources. Westmont is a mid-size Chicago suburb consisting of caring people who live in the community and work in the Westmont government, local businesses, the Westmont Park District, the Westmont Library, healthcare organization, or as first responders. They are members of groups, village events, service organizations and faith communities. Dementia Friendly Westmont brings all these groups together with the common goal of creating supportive spaces where those with dementia.

Dementia Friendly Westmont brought resources on dementia to the community’s weekly Street Fair. Having the tablecoth enouraged people to share their family stories about dementia and learn about Dementia Friendly.
