When it comes to clinical research on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, you may think only people with dementia can participate. But that’s not true — nearly everyone can participate in a clinical trial!
To make sure results apply to everyone, researchers need a variety of volunteers, including:
- Healthy people with no symptoms of dementia
- People from diverse and underrepresented groups
- Those who care for people with dementia
- People identified as at-risk through their family history, genetic makeup, or biomarkers
