Monthly Dementia Friendly Zoom Meeting

On the third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm, we hold a Zoom meeting for anyone working on Dementia Friendly efforts throughout Illinois. This meeting, led by Darby Morhardt of Northwestern, is an opportunity to share ideas and discuss challenges.

Anyone working on Dementia Friendly efforts in Illinois is welcome to attend.

Sub-Committee Work Groups

Sub-Committees are generated by the needs of the Dementia Friendly efforts. They allow for open discussion and sharing of ideas. The frequency of meetings will be set by group members. Specific sub-committees will change based on needs.

Library Sub-Committee

This sub-committee discusses Dementia Friendly library programming. Often libraries are the hub for Dementia Friendly efforts in a community. Variety of programming will be considered, along with ways to collaborate.

First meeting will be Tuesday, April 6th at 1:00 pm. From there we will discuss how often to meet.

Sector Training Sub-Committee

This sub-committee considers ways to train various community sectors. These sectors include but are not limited to; first responders, businesses, retail, financial, restaurants, and faith communities.

Sustainability Sub-Committee

This sub-committee discusses ways to maintain Dementia Friendly efforts after achieving recognition.
